About The Event
Children and young people who are embroiled in family law experience a range of psychosocial and emotional stressors. This training session will shed light on both nature and impacts of family court proceedings, and provide counsellors, psychologists and relevant staff in schools with the skills and knowledge to best support children and young people through this challenging process. This training will also cover the legal aspects of the process, and guide school staff on how best to manage complex ethical and legal scenarios in the context of family separation and dispute. Issues around confidentiality, navigating consent around court orders, domestic violence orders and record keeping will be explored.
This event will also be ended with a unique opportunity for attendees to participate in a Q & A session and open panel discussion. Attendees are encouraged to have questions prepared or send them to pd.apacs.nsw@gmail.com prior to the 3rd April so that their questions may be addressed by our experienced speakers.
